Hello

I’m Luisah, owner of WPB. I started this business when I was 21, and 6 months pregnant if I may add (yes swollen feet and big tummy in the way but I’d still bake at 3 in the morning!).

I love baking! When we were living at Pacific Adventist University (PAU), my mom and I would bake every Saturday night and then I would go to the market on Sunday mornings at 6:00 am to sell the cakes.

I am passionate about rich flavours, texture, creativity and art. And how you can turn a simple cake into something beautiful! My creations are from the heart and my hands were made to create. I use my story to inspire others so that they may find their passion and do what sets their soul on fire.

My Story

In Dec 2019, instead of going on holidays, I baked my way through the new year. In Feb 2020, I took my own maternity leave; gave birth in March; came back in June, bigger and better. One day when my daughter grows up, she’ll know I did it all for her.

Starting a business was never in my books. I already had a full-time job as a Graphic Designer & AV operator, and I love what I do. There’s just something about being an entrepreneur that sticks to me. But it’s not all rainbows and butterflies. I’ve made losses, had a few bad orders, closed and reopened, but through it all, giving up is never an option. When you become a parent, everything changes.

I come from an amazing support system and that’s one of the many reasons I flourish. My family, my partner and my daughter have supported me since day one. I don’t know how to stress enough that a strong support system is going to carry you through.
I thrive on Matthew 6:33, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you.” As a strong Christian, I fully believe that all things work together with the man above.
